Grant Writer - The Village of Valemount

Hours: Part time position for the 2016 year.  This posting is for a one year term with the potential of renewal and is
dependent on grant funding.
 
Qualifications:  -Excellent interpersonal communication skills
-Excellent writing skills
-Thoroughness and persistence in follow up
-Completion of Grade 12 or an equivalent GED
-Valid BC Driver's License, Class 5
-Knowledge of local area
-Self-motivated and creative
-Experience with public education and/or working with the public on a one-on-one level
-Computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
-Data gathering and analytical skills
 
Job Duties:  The Community Grant Writer will assist the community and non-profit agencies access more funding
dollars to support crucial economic development projects and initiatives.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to:
-educating groups regarding proper documentation required for grants;
-meeting with local groups to discuss their needs and research applicable to grants;
-keeping up to date on current grants and informing groups if compatible; and
-applying for grants on behalf of the groups and the Village of Valemount
