The Workshops:

Six-String Guitar Pickin'
Have you been wanting to take your guitar playing to the next level? Then bring out your guitars, or borrow one of ours. Join Songbirds' instructor James Lamb to learn how to pluck intricate patterns, melodies and rhythms with your fingertips. The atmosphere will be fun and supportive. If you need help setting up your guitar, please show up early with a fresh set of strings and we will be happy to help you.

The Makings of Music
Ever wondered what a "note" is? Join Songbirds' instructor Joanna Chapman-Smith to find out about how musicians, composers and music lovers think about, write and read music. We will cover basic notation, major and minor scales, as well as play rhythms together, play listening games and even try writing our own simple music. Pull back the curtain and find out some new, satisfying ways to make music.
