Covid-19 Pandemic

Page last Updated:    November 18, 2020
The Valemount Learning Centre is committed to keeping our clients, staff and community safe and healthy at all times.  With the outbreak of Covid-19 worldwide, we believe that we must follow precautions and advice from our health professionals.
Our Offices
Our offices, located at 99 Gorse Street, are currently open to the public, but we must limit the number of people entering our workplace as per WorkSafeBC recommendations.  Our staff wear face masks, and we respectfully request that anyone visiting our office do the same.  We have disposable face masks available for clients.  Our office hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:30 - 4:00.  We are closed on Fridays, weekends and statutory holidays.

Courses
We are offering some in-person courses, but we are doing so with strict Covid-19 protocols in place.  If you register for a course, we will provide you with the safety information necessary for that course.
If you have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to share your ideas for courses, please contact Katerina Tinsley at courses@valemountlearningcentre.org  or by calling 250-566-4601
Community Adult Literacy and ESL Programs
Our Literacy Coordinator, Kim Hood, is in contact with all clients to make arrangements for one-on-one or virtual services, depending on the client's comfort level.  For in-person services, Covid-19 safety protocols will be followed.  If you need to reach Kim, please email her at learn@valemountlearningcentre.org.
Skills Highway Employment Program
Our Employment Advisor, Mike Johnson, is in contact with all clients to make arrangements for one-on-one or virtual services, depending on the client's comfort level.  For in-person services, Covid-19 safety protocols will be followed.  If you need to reach Mike, please email him at advisor@valemountlearningcentre.org
V-Crew Youth Program
The V-Crew Youth Centre is currently open and will follow the same schedule as our local public schools.  The hours of operation are Tuesday to Thursday, 5:00 - 8:00, and Friday, 5:00 - 10:00.  Our Youth Program Coordinator, Emily Cannon can be reached at youth@valemountlearningcentre.org or via our Facebook page using Facebook Messenger.
Please note, Columbia Basin Trust has cancelled the Youth Conference in Kimberley in April, and will be re-scheduling in the future.
