Covid-19 Pandemic

Page last Updated:    March 23, 2020
The Valemount Learning Centre is committed to keeping our clients, staff and community safe and healthy at all times.  With the outbreak of Covid-19 worldwide, we believe that we must follow precautions and advice from our health professionals.
The following changes will be put in place until further notice, and updates will be posted here as the situation changes.
OUR OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.  Staff will be working from home, and phones will not be answered.  Please use the contact information below if you require assistance.
All non-essential courses will be cancelled and re-scheduled as soon as possible.  If you have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to share your ideas for courses, please contact Katerina Tinsley at  or by cell phone at 250 566 1231.  Students involved in employment-related courses will be contacted for next steps.

V-Crew Youth Program
The V-Crew Youth Centre will be closed until March 28, 2020.  Our Youth Program Coordinator, Kim Hood, will arrange for some virtual connections with youth in the community.  Kim can be reached at or via our Facebook page using Facebook Messenger.
Please note, Columbia Basin Trust has cancelled the Youth Conference in Kimberley in April, and will be re-scheduling in the future.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Since programming is, at this time, directly connected to our Elementary School, we will not have any active mentorship agreements until the schools re-open.  If you are interested in volunteering as a Big Brother or Big Sister, please contact our Executive Director or go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC webiste for more information.
Executive Director
Our Executive Director, Riette Kenkel, will be available via email at or by cell phone at 250-566-1239 (urgent inquiries only please).
